Located on the scenic shores of Lake Hāwea, this holiday home by MJWarchitecture is a striking example of minimalist design, crafted with precision and care by the Lake Wānaka Building team. Andrew and Richard chose to embrace the project's challenges, from navigating a tight, triangular site to overcoming delays caused by Covid-19 lockdowns. They were able to ensure a smooth construction process, with the public land providing unexpected advantages for site access.

The home features a harmonious blend of charred Siberian larch cladding and warm timber accents, reflecting Mark’s thoughtful design vision. The birch ply internal lining and durable exterior cladding meant for meticulous attention to detail and high craftsmanship integrity. Despite the complexities of remote coordination—We didn't meet with Mark until after the project's completion—clear communication and a shared commitment to quality brought this elegant, functional residence to life.
